I am now living in Berlin since two weeks and would love to share some impressions of my time with you. I'm working in an incredibly inspiring, photography-focused art gallery named "Camera Work"  that I would definitely recommend to visit to everyone who goes to Berlin. The picture above shows the CWC Gallery in Berlin-Mitte, which is one of the two gallery locations (the other one is in Charlottenburg).
From Friday on, the gallery in Charlottenburg is presenting an exhibition of the American fashion photographer Louis Faurer, whose black and white photographs taken in New York, Paris and elsewhere fascinate with an authentic and imposing flair of the 40's and 50's. I'm so happy to be able to gain experience at Camera Work, which has already made my stay in Berlin worthwhile.
I took this picture when I went to "Klunkerkranich" with a friend last week. The Klunkerkranich is a café / bar located on a shopping center's roof top in Berlin-Neukölln which seems more like a rooftop garden than a normal bar. People actually go there to plant their own herbs and vegetables, which gives the bar its unique and special charme. We had some drinks, a German Bratwurst and enjoyed a beautiful sunset over Berlin.
In my first week, me and my boyfriend had some pretty delicious burgers with potato sticks at "Shiso Burger" in Berlin-Mitte.
Even though at the moment I still have to work hard on my uni essays I have to finish till Friday, I'm incredibly happy to be in Berlin and get to know new inspiring places and people everyday. It is a great change to the small and rather unspectacular town where I study in Germany, and I'm excited and curious how this summer is going to affect me. It is also the first time that I'm living together with my boyfriend, and we found a small and cute apartment in Prenzlauer Berg.

Arosa, Switzerland

Back in February, me and my boyfriend visited the beautiful skiing resort Arosa. Arosa is located in the north of Switzerland and a well-known tourist resort in winter as well as in summer. For me, it was the first time to ever be in a skiing area and non-surprisingly, I got very excited about it.
As the trip lasted only for three days, it didn't make sense for me to try out my skiing skills, so I just made some beautiful walks and watched the others having fun skiing down the piste at a high speed.
Let the hills bring peace.
After a long and hilly walk on Saturday, we finally made it to the restaurant "Alpenblick" whose cozy atmosphere was just right for us being super exhausted. We had a delicious lunch and afterwards went back home to have an afternoon nap.
I really enjoyed being in the alps for the first time and understanding the fascination for skiing that all my friends have. It was also the first time traveling to Switzerland for me and I'm happy to have made this wonderful experience.

Munich Travel Diary

On the last weekend before the closing of the Jean Paul Gaultier exhibition of the "Kunsthalle" in Munich, we were able to get into it and receive amazing impressions into the work of the famous designer and artist. Not only was the exhibition about the beauty of the dresses Gaultier designed, it rather showed the visitor the incredible artwork of his oevre.
By taking a closer look at the dresses and costumes, one could get an impression of the incredibly detailed manufactured production of his avant garde designer creation. A video function that beamed acting and speaking face movements onto the front heads of the mannequins gave the whole exhibition a more vivid and present note.
Gaultier liked to play with the stereotypes of society by choosing unconventional women like Beth Ditto, Conchita Wurst and Madonna as his muses. His play with different body shapes, ages and gender types leads to questions about the beauty idol of the society and the role the fashion world plays in it. Jean Paul Gaultiers creations can thereupon be seen as a message to society. We were fascinated by the exhibition as it gave a deep insight into the meaning and relevance of the fashion world to society.
Of course me and my boyfriend also discovered the other good sides Munich has to offer, had nice breakfasts and dinner, went for some shopping and visited the beautiful and impressive Theatiner church right by the Odeonsplatz.

One day in Stuttgart

Just before Christmas I went to Stuttgart for one day to visit my mother and her boyfriend. After arriving in his studio whose interior design was just lovely, my mother and I took the old tramp to go to Stuttgart highest hill and received a beautiful view over the city.

The city is located like a valley surrounded by a lot of hills and is, different from what I expected, very beautiful and miscellaneous. I especially liked the atmosphere in the city centre where the huge christmas market took place.
We also visited the "I got rhythm" exhibition of the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart, which taught us a lot about the evolution of Jazz music and its influences on art in the 20th century.

Airlie Beach and the Whitsunday Islands

Almost at the end of my Australia trip, I had the chance to live in the beautiful and cute Airlie Beach for a while. It’s unique charme is composed by the many boats by the harbour, the crystal blue water and the fact that it’s basically only one street that forms the Airlie Beach area. I had the best and most chilled time in Airlie that I spent with a friend from Norway, doing basically nothing all day than just tanning by the beach, cooking nice meals and laughing.
I also did a three-day-sailing trip through the beautiful Whitsunday Islands, from which Airlie Beach was the departing point. Booking the trip, I wasn't quite sure what I got myself into: Was it gonna be a big party trip or just a small and cozy boat with a few people? Would I get seasick?
It turned out to be the best days of my Australia travels. With an incredibly nice group of about 30 people we went snorkelling, diving, stand up paddling, saw some dolphins and enjoyed the chilled and cozy atmosphere on the boat. We were a huge group of girls, and I made a lot of friends, mostly from Scandinavia, Germany and England with whom I'm still staying in touch.

Byron Bay
